Your Router Can Affect Gaming Performance

Wireless Router

If you have played any multiplayer either on your PC or console, you know that speed matters. It can really be frustrating to find yourself sitting through gaming skips, lags and buffering due to poor internet connection. This can be very aggravating for serious gamers. This problem always lies with your router.

With the right router, you get to enjoy the games you love without any hassle. However, high-end routers can be quite expensive. Well, if you don’t have a lot of money to spend, but still want a good quality router, the great news is that you can always obtain the right one you can afford.

How to Save on a Good Router

When buying a good quality router at a fair price, too often, people make some costly mistakes that hurt their budget. One example is buying features they do not really need.

Modern routers available today can reach at least twenty feet away from the base station even with multiple walls in the way and not losing much signal. Whether it is on the 5GHz or just 2.4 GHz, you will be able to enjoy a good gaming experience without lags at low price. So, don’t listen to some marketing speeches that promise extreme gaming performance for an additional price. You can buy a standard router for a reasonable price that performs just the same in larger homes or apartments.

How to Pick the Best Routers to Game With?

There are certain factors to consider in order to find the best gaming router that suits you. These include:

  •         The Signal Strength. This refers to how well the router performs in different home layouts and various connection scenarios. Find the best gaming router with a strong signal regardless of the layout of your home or its size.
  •         The Range. Your router’s positioning is very important. It must be away from any obstruction and in a central location. Look for one that will give you a good range and affordable.
  •         The Transmission Technology. Regardless of the size of your gaming router, it shouldn’t settle for anything that’s less than the transmission standard of 802.11ac. When possible, avoid using “wireless n”. It is best to do your own research and know your options to make sound decisions.
  •         Dual VS Non-Dual Band. It is also essential to consider the number of wireless devices on your network. Of course, the more devices connected to your router, the slower the network will be. If you want to make sure that you won’t experience any skips or lags while playing game, a dual-band wireless router can be your best option.

Consider this list when shopping for a router. There are many that claim to be the best gaming router in the market but fail to deliver excellent results. Once you’ve found your best router suitable for gaming, you’ll be ready to play your favorite multiplayer games. You can also compete with the best player without worrying about internet connection issues and enjoy your experience.

project countries afb_europaThe European project IMAGINE is developing new calculation methods for railway, road, industrial and aircraft noise. IMAGINE will standardize the Harmonoise methods and will provide guidelines on how to use these methods for noise mapping and noise action plans (e.g. traffic flow management) in the EC.

IMAGINE – Improved Methods for the Assessment of the Generic Impact of Noise in the Environment.

In the IMAGINE project, we will provide guidelines, examples and databases that allow for a quick and easy implementation of the harmonized noise computation methods in the Member States of the European Community. The IMAGINE project is closely linked to the Harmonoise project, in which these harmonized computation methods are developed. While the Harmonoise project focuses on prediction methods for road and railway noise, the IMAGINE project extends this range with aircraft and industrial noise sources. A flow chart is shown to the left.

The products of Harmonoise and IMAGINE are intended to be used by the Member States for the production of strategic noise maps and to help predict the efficiency of noise action plans, as they are due from 2007 according to the EU Directive on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise. But of course we think that the methods can be used for any other purpose of community noise prediction.
