DGMR, Consulting Engineers

DGMR Consulting Engineers BV is specialised in acoustics, noise abatement and vibration control, environmental physics, fire safety, facade technology and building physics. With offices in Arnhem, The Hague, Drachten and Maastricht, DGMR employs a total of 110 persons of which 80 have a university degree or higher technical education. About 35 employees operate in the field of noise measurements, calculations and advising, for industry as well as for government. About 10 employees are developing specialised software, mainly concerning noise prediction programmes. Furthermore, applied research is carried out.

The specialists for industrial, road traffic and rail traffic noise are involved in more than 300 new projects each year. These projects concern noise abatement studies for industrial areas, plants/factories, roads and railway lines (new and under reconstruction), and differ from small to very large, from routine jobs to the state of the art studies. One project even involves the development of a road noise prediction model covering our entire country.

Recently, DGMR has been involved in studies regarding the new high-speed railway line to Germany, several new highways and the complete Rotterdam harbour area. Furthermore, studies have been carried out regarding the comparison of different methods for calculating barrier attenuation and regarding the comparison of complete prediction models for road traffic noise, railway noise and industrial noise.

About 400 municipalities, government departments, environmental specialists, companies and consulting engineers are currently using noise prediction software manufactured by DGMR. We support them with updates, helpdesk service and training programmes.
