CEN 256 Working Group 3[26 September 2005]Collaboration between CEN 256 Working Group 3 and Workpackage 6 of IMAGINE is expected in the near future. CEN 256 Working Group 3 is charged with producing a set of international standards related to railway noise. They are currently drafting documents on measurement of (a) cab noise (b) rail head roughness (c) track vibration decay rate. Their future work programme will include consideration of railway noise source description and of indirect wheel/rail roughness measurement, both of which are of obvious interest to IMAGINE. As two IMAGINE Work Package 6 partners (TNO and AEAT UK) are also on the CEN Working Group, close collaboration between CEN and IMAGINE will be assured during the writing of these new standards.  |
