| Erik de Graaff |
Erik lives in a village. His home is at 0.5 km from a major road, at 0.8 km from an industrial plant, at 1.3 km from a railroad and at 11 km from the airport. The industrial plant is rather quiet and the other sources can be heard, though not in an annoying way. His expertise is road vehicle noise.
|
motto: | If all our modern vehicles would still have the sound, the price and the mileage of a 1904 Studebaker electric, road traffic noise would not be the most important source of environmental annoyance. The worldwide knowledge network of thousands of high skilled acousticians was long time not strong enough to compensate the rapid growth of our vehicle fleet. That we are nearly catching up now, may be due to a combination of increased skills and stagnating economy, but most probably due to simple logarithmic laws and the limited amount of vehicles a person can drive simultaneously. |
