| Bert lives quite close to a major road (100 metres), but is not annoyed by the traffic, though he can hear it sometimes. Other noise sources (railway, airport, industry) are much farther away and are inaudible. His fields of expertise are road/vehicle and railway noise theory and measurement techniques, general acoustics and sound perception.
